Administration Technician - Department of Public Health - Infectious Diseases - NRBHSS
The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement
(section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel.
Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient
organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.
The regional board seeks to fill the following permanent position:
Administration Technician Department of Public Health - Infectious diseases Posting 2025-005
DESCRIPTION
Under the authority of the Deputy Director of Public Health and in collaboration with the Infectious Diseases Coordinator,
the incumbent will assist members of the Infectious Diseases team in administrative, secretarial and clerical support
functions.
The incumbent will be responsible for thematic files in infectious diseases, such as: notifiable diseases (MADO),
immunization, surveillance and control of respiratory viruses (SCVR), infection prevention and control (IPC), tuberculosis,
sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections (STBBI) and overdoses.
More specifically, she will be responsible for:
• Ensure the logistics surrounding the organization of events and trips to Nunavik and the south (e.g. flights,
accommodation, meeting room rentals, meals, car rentals, etc.),
• Assist the team in managing expense allocations;
• Send and follow-up documents with translators (Inuktitut, English and French);
• Draft and follow up on funding letters and contracts;
• Collaborate with the Administrative Services Department to process purchase requisitions, purchase orders,
invoices purchase orders, invoice processing, etc.;
• Follow up on signatures with the coordination team;
• Support employees in managing hardware and computer access as required;
• Collaborate with the Public Health Field Operations Officer to manage large-scale events of the Infectious Diseases
team;
• Fill in for absences of other Public Health team administrative technicians;
• Participate in the development, implementation and enforcement of Public Health administrative in collaboration
with other administrative technicians;
• Participate in various meetings and contribute to problem-solving;
• Perform any other related duties as requested by her immediate superior.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must hold a college diploma (DEC) in general administration, accounting and management techniques, office
automation techniques or another appropriate college discipline from a school recognized by the appropriate
ministry, or a college diploma (DEC) combined with a relevant undergraduate university certificate or an attestation
of college studies (AEC) of eight hundred hours or more combined with experience relevant to the field in question;
• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of
relevant experience and education may be considered;
• At least three (3) years’ relevant experience in a similar position;
• Fluency in two of the three languages used in Nunavik, both spoken and written (French, English, Inuktitut);
• Excellent knowledge of the Office suite;
• Strong teamwork, priority management, customer service and communication skills;
• Minutia, dynamism and flexibility;
• Experience working in Nunavik or a remote region is considered an asset.
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week);
• Position based in Kuujjuaq or telecommuting with travel to Nunavik as needed;
• Salary according to MSSS rules ($26.38/hr to $35.22/hr);
