POSITION: ADMINISTRATION TECHNICIAN

DEPARTMENT: COMPLEMENTARY SERVICES AND COMPASSIONATE SCHOOLS

SALARY: FROM $24.21 TO $32.32 AN HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Reporting to the Assistant Director, Complementary and Compassionate Services – Special Education, and

all other designated personnel, the Administration Technician is responsible for organizing and executing

administrative tasks to ensure the department runs smoothly.

Information Management & Communication

• Develop, adapt and maintain tools and best practices for document and information management, using

the tools and technology available.

• Oversee the management of the CCS general email box, mail distribution, and photocopying tasks.

• Draft and type documents, including routine communications.

• Maintain accurate records of documents and correspondence related to the service administration.

• Prepare and distribute reports relevant to the department’s operations.

• Manage and update student files in SharePoint;.

Financial Resources & Human Resources

• Develop, adapt and maintain tools and best practices for managing financial and human resources within

the department.

• Maintain records, process, and follow up on all departmental expenses and contracts.

• Process and document employees' travel claims, overtime statements and absences.

• Collaborate with school and Payroll to process and maintain staffing records for the department.

• Act as a liaison with the Payroll and Finance Departments, as needed.

Travels & Other Tasks

• Manage and follow up on hotel reservations and travel requests.

• Be available to travel with the CCS team as needed.

• Perform any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

College diploma (DEC) in administration or other diploma or attestation of studies recognized as being

equivalent.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable

candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who

accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Hold a Diploma of College Studies (DCS) or possess equivalent work experience.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint, TEAMS, and

OneDrive.

• Fluent (oral and written) in at least two (2) of the three (3) official working languages of the Board:

Inuktitut, English or French.

• Proficient in typing in two (2) of the three (3) SB official work languages: Syllabics, English or French.

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and utilize new technology.

• Knowledge of Inuit culture and lifestyle typical to Nunavik (an asset).

• Possess a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle (an asset).

WORK SCHEDULE: 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff, this position belongs to job category

4211: from $24.21 to $32.32 an hour depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated

based on the percentage of the task.
