The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement 

(section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. 

Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient 

organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region. 

The Regional Board wishes to fill the following temporary assignment:

DEPARTMENT AND SERVICE: PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT, SERVICE # 40002 PUBLIC HEALTH OPER 

DESCRIPTION 

Under the authority of the Assistant Director of Public Health, the Administrative Technician provides administrative 

and logistical support for the planning, coordination, and delivery of events organized by the public health teams. 

Your responsibilities also include: 

Event Planning and Logistics 

• Coordinate reservations for meeting rooms, vehicles, hotel room blocks, charter flights, and ground 

transportation for consultants, staff, and external partners; 

• Book flights and maintain travel arrangements for consultants, participants, and community partners; 

• Coordinate meal arrangements, including food purchases, preparation, bannock, and other event-related catering 

needs; 

• Manage event registrations, distribute invitations, and track attendance; 

• Monitor event budgets and process contractor payments, invoices, and expense claims, including those for guides, 

cooks, and other service providers; 

• Coordinate printing requests and the shipment of event materials by cargo; 

• Provide on-site or remote logistical support during events, as required; 

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date event tracking tools. 

Documentation and Communications 

• Draft, format, and distribute event-related letters, contracts, meeting minutes, and reports; 

• Coordinate and track translation requests; 

• Prepare, process, and track purchase orders and cheque requests; 

• Prepare supporting documents and materials for meetings and training sessions; 

• Maintain records of official communications with partners and communities. 

Information Management and Internal Tools 

• Maintain and update the event follow-up and administrative follow-up tools; 

• Maintain an event reference document containing key Nunavik contacts, resources, and other relevant 

information; 

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of tracking tools and processes for projects and events. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of 

relevant experience and training may be considered. 

• Must hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in general administration, accounting and management techniques, 

office systems technology, or another appropriate college discipline from an institution recognized by the relevant 

ministry; or a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) combined with a relevant undergraduate university certificate; 

or a relevant Attestation of Collegial Studies (ACS) of eight hundred hours or more combined with experience 

relevant to the field concerned. 

• At least two (2) years of relevant experience in administrative functions. 

• Excellent command of at least two of the three languages used in Nunavik (French, English, Inuktitut) and good 

knowledge of the Office suite. 

SKILLS AND DESIRED PROFILE 

• Demonstrated ability to carry out duties from a perspective of cultural safety; 

• Very good command of office tools (Office suite); 

• Strong skills in teamwork, priority management, and customer service; 

• Excellent organizational skills and rigor in carrying out tasks; 

• Demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative; 

• Work experience in Nunavik, in an Indigenous setting, or in a remote region is considered an important asset; 

• Good understanding of the sociocultural context of Nunavik and of Inuit culture (an asset). 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

• Home base: Position based in the North (Kuujjuaq); 

• Please note that interviews will potentially be conducted during the week of September 7 or September 14, 2026; 

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement shall receive priority. 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Temporary full-time assignment (35 hours/week) of one year with the possibility of extension; 

• Day shift; 

• Salary according to MSSS conditions and the candidate’s qualifications ($27.75/h to $37.04/h).
