POSITION:  ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

DEPARTMENT: GENERAL ADMINISTRATION

SALARY: FROM $116,551 TO $155,396 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Reporting to the Assistant Director General, the Assistant Director assists in the physical management and administrative operations of the schools. Main activities of the position include:

Participate in the planning and implementation of the Board Strategic action plan;

Hire, supervise and evaluate the Youth Sector Center Director;

Ensure adherence to policies, regulations, contractual obligations, and organizational procedures.;

Provide expertise to school administrators to promote the optimal management of the schools;

Support or participate in the recruitment process of school staff;

Verify that deliverables meet required standards of the Board;

Participate in meetings, and committees with partners and stakeholders.

Participate in the planning and preparation of the department annual budget;

Provide support to schools with their School Success Plan;

Assume any other responsibilities compatible with the function that may be assigned by the immediate superior.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in administration or in a relevant field. 

Eight (8) years of relevant experience with at least five (5) years in a management position.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all the aforementioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

REQUIREMENTS:

Fluency in two (2) of the three (3) official languages of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (Inuktitut, English and French);

Must be prepared for frequent travels throughout Nunavik;

Excellent management and organizational skills in order to create an efficient work environment;

Initiative;

Excellent knowledge of MS Outlook, SharePoint, Teams, Word and Excel;

Speaking Inuktitut is an asset;

Knowledge of Nunavik and the Inuit culture is an asset. 

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

Class 10* as per the KI working conditions of managers: from $116 551 to $155 396 annually depending on qualifications and experience.
