Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
FUNCTION &
DUTIES:
Under the
supervision of the Director of Education Services and in collaboration with
other administrators of the Education Services, the Assistant Director is
responsible for performing the following tasks and duties:

Manage and coordinate the
development and updating of curricula related to designated subjects taught in second
languages in the youth sector, in addition to the certification of studies;
·
Coordinate and update activities
related to the implementation of programs of studies in accordance with the standards
of the Ministère de l’Éducation (MEQ);
·
Contribute to the development and
implementation of learning evaluation standards and internal tests in the
designated subjects;
·
Oversee the performance of
employees under his/her direct responsibility;
·
Establish the budget under
his/her responsibility, monitor its use and provide reports as needed;
·
Participate in the development
and updating of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq policies and rules;
·
Represent Kativik
Ilisarniliriniq, as needed, on matters related to his/her field of work;
·
Participate in various
committees that fall within the scope of his/her duties;
·
Coordinate external funding for
various projects;
· Fulfill any other responsibilities assigned by his/her supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
·
Undergraduate degree in an
appropriate field certifying a university program of at least three years or
has held a senior management or executive position in a school board where a
university degree is a minimum requirement;
·
Six (6) years of relevant
experience, including team management experience;
·
A teaching licence recognized under the Education Act
for Cree, Inuit and Naskapi Native Persons (C.Q.L.R., c. I-14).
OTHER
REQUIREMENTS:
·
Fluency in two (2) of the three (3)
working languages of Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (Inuktitut, French or English);
·
Leadership and ability to
promote teamwork;
·
Teaching experience in Nunavik (an
asset);
· Willingness to travel.
CLASSIFICATION
/ SALARY / BENEFITS:
Class 10 as per the working conditions of Kativik
Ilisarniliriniq’s managers: from $113,708
$ to $151,605 annually depending on
qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the
percentage of the task.
