Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director of Material Resources, the Building Technician is responsible
for:
• Providing technical support to ensure the maintenance and proper operation of schools and residences
in Nunavik and Montreal.
• Assist in implementing and managing a service requests system, monitoring and establishing an
inventory of mechanical equipment, and performing tasks related to temperature and air quality
control within facilities.
• Assisting maintenance coordinators in managing service requests for heating, plumbing, and electrical
installations, and following up with in -house teams and contractors.
• Preparing schedules for preventive maintenance, sourcing products, and obtaining quotations.
• Helping coordinate renovation projects, including preparing specifications, plans, cost estimates,
material purchasing, and other related tasks.
• Performing certain administrative tasks in the Material Resources and Purchasing departments.
• Travelling frequently to Nunavik communities.
• Developing and preparing drawings and plans using AutoCAD software.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Hold a Diploma of College Studies in building systems technology or in Architectural Technology or a
diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore -mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable
candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts,
as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Two (2) years of relevant experience;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and Maximo software – An asset
• Fluency in at least two of the working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, French, English).
WORK SCHEDULE : 35 hours per week from Monday to Friday.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff, this position belongs to job category
4213: from $2 7.23 to $ 37.96 an hour depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated
based on the percentage of the task.
