COMMUNITY PROJECT ADMINISTATOR

PERMANENT FULL-TIME POSITION

Location: Inukjuak, QC

Pituvik Landholding Corporation of Inukjuak is seeking an individual for permanent full-time position as Community Project Administrator (“CPA”) who is responsible for opening an administration system for each local organization that would be requesting for funding support from the Innavik Committee.  The focus of this role includes (i) assisting community organisations (including PLHC) optimise their fund-raising (in all forms and from all available sources), (ii) providing project administration management, research, communication and other expertise in support of PLHC business development or other initiatives. The main focus will be on setting the books and administrative systems that would assist in the general administration of the local organizations and also directly assisting in putting together applications and filling out forms with the organizations to request for additional funding support.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  

Working as a team with the Community Project Coordinator to meet with the local organizations and provide administrative assistance

Develop, maintain, and make available to the community, a comprehensive database of potential sources of funding (e.g. grants, equity, loans, loan guarantees etc.) that might be accessed by any group or organisation in Inukjuak.  The database should include contact information, eligibility criteria, nature of funding, funding amounts and other available information. The CPA will directly manage the database of funding programs.

Develop and maintain good working relationships with key staff within each funding source

Actively assist any organisation operating in Inukjuak, whether formal or informal, to:

o identify potential sources of funding, and 

o apply for funding

Ensure that all groups and organisations, formal or informal, within Inukjuak are aware of:

o the Innavik Funds Committee and its mandates and resources

o the availability of the Community Project Administrator to actively assist with identifying sources of funding and applying for funding, in partnership with the Community Project Coordinator.

Lead, project manage or otherwise support and assist with initiatives and projects led by or supported by the board of PLHC, as requested.

Assist in the maintenance and recording of all funding requests submitted and the outcome of each request

With the Community Project Coordinator, regularly report to the Innavik Funds Committee and the board of PLHC to keep both groups aware of planned and past activities

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Knowledge: Applicants must be very familiar with the community and culture of Inukjuak and will ideally have considerable experience in project management and applying to bureaucracies for financial support.

- Skills: Applicants must be fluent (written and spoken) in Inuktitut and English. Knowledge of French is considered an asset. Good communications and analytical skills and writing abilities are essential. 

- Education and Experience:  Applicants should possess a university degree in Administration, or its equivalent. Previous experience in a similar capacity would be an asset. 

- Language: ability to communicate orally in Inuttitut, communicate (both orally and in writing) effectively in English, ability to speak and/or write in French would be an asset.

- Personal Suitability: The ideal candidate is a well-organized self-starter and team player that requires minimal management and always aims to exceed expectations.  She/he regularly demonstrates initiative, creative problem solving and effective interpersonal skills.  She/he is detailed and thorough, dependable and reliable.  

REQUIREMENTS:

This position can be a remote work position and can be located anywhere in Nunavik or Quebec. 

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

- Permanent full-time position

- Starting salary dependant on experience, with cargo benefits, travel allowance and northern living allowance. 

- 3 weeks vacation
