Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Material Resources (Building Maintenance ), the Coordinator is responsible for
the performance of duties required for the coordination, supervision, evaluation and development of programs and
activities pertaining to the management and optimal use of the school board’s material resources as it relates to
maintenan ce operations of buildings belonging to the school board.
The main responsibilities include also:
• Coordinate the implementation, development and enforcement of rules and procedures relating to the physical
maintenance of buildings in the 14 communities;
• Plan and coordinate the implementation, development and enforcement of rules and procedures relating to the
preventative and physical maintenance of the school board’s buildings;
• Supervise the school board’s maintenance team in Nunavik and/or supervise contractors for minor renovation
projects ;
• Participate in the development of the school board’s objectives and strategies dealing with material resources
and collaborate with other staff members in determining the annual action plan;
• Implement the policies dealing with the conversion and use of premises and equipment;
• Collaborate with other staff members in promoting and applying occupational health and safety rules;
• Assist the administrators of the school board’s establishments and administrative units;
• Any other related duty assigned by the Assistant Director of Material Resources – Building Maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• An undergraduate degree in a relevant field certifying a minimum three-year university program or hold a senior
or manager position;
• Five (5) years of relevant experience.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a
suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a
condition of employment, to foll ow a training plan determined by the Board
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
• Fluency in two of the three official languages of the school board (Inuktitut, English and French);
• Strong leadership and organizational abilities;
• Prior experience in building maintenance in Nunavik is an asset ;
• Must be willing to travel in Nunavik as required.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Position classified as COORDINATOR. Class 00-08* as per the working conditions of KI’s managers: from $101,612 TO
$135,480 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of
the task.
