The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.

The regional board seeks to fill the following position:

MANAGEMENT AND DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT, # 40006-PREV&HEALTH P CHILD

DESCRIPTION

Under the authority of the director of public health and the deputy director, the co-coordinator is responsible for jointly leading the Prevention and Health Promotion team. This includes supporting the planning, coordination, and implementation of activities across thematic and population-based programs, such as:

• Perinatal and early childhood services;

• Youth mental health, sexual health, and sexual abuse prevention;

• Oral health and dental public health programming;

• Chronic disease prevention and healthy lifestyles promotion;

• Community wellness, food security, tobacco control, and related initiatives.

The Coordinator ensures that regional actions are harmonized with local public health plans, supports team members, and promotes intersectoral engagement. They share responsibility for coherent leadership, operational integration, and team cohesion across the Prevention and Promotion team. The division of responsibilities between co-coordinators will be established by the Director of Public Health to ensure optimal alignment with competencies, experience, and operational needs. Both coordinators will work together to ensure consistency, collaborative problem-solving, and effective support to the team and partners.

Your responsibilities also include :

• Jointly coordinate Prevention and Health Promotion teams according to assigned thematic or operational areas;

• Support the implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the regional public health action plan;

• Ensure alignment of regional initiatives with local public health action plans;

• Participate in strategic planning and contribute to the development of public health priorities;

• Manage human, material, and financial resources in accordance with the organizational plan;

• Provide advisory support, coaching, and guidance to team members;

• Facilitate collaboration within the team and with partners such as health centers, municipalities, schools, and community organizations;

• Represent the team in committees, working groups, and intersectoral collaborations;

• Contribute to reporting, accountability requirements, and continuous improvement processes.

REQUIREMENTS

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered;

• Graduate degree in a field related to health or management (asset);

• Professional experience in prevention and health promotion;

• Experience as a manager (asset);

• Experience living or working in a remote region and multicultural context (major asset);

• Knowledge of northern realities and Inuit population priorities;

• Bilingualism in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages used in Nunavik: English, Inuktitut, French;

• Functional proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Outlook, SharePoint).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Please note that interviews will potentially be conducted during the week of December 29th 2025;

• Home base: Residence in the North is prioritized; however, teleworking from the South is possible depending on operational needs. Please note that travel to the North may be required depending on training activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Full-time position, 35 hours per week;

• Day shift;

• Salary according to the conditions in effect for management staff in the health and social services network – Class 38 ($94,306 to $122,596 per year).
