CORE SHACK ATTENDANT

PERMANENT POSITION

The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) 

followed by 2 weeks of rest.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Reporting to the Exploration Geologist, the Core shack Helper is responsible for assisting the Project 

Geologists. His main responsibilities are: 

▪ To assist the geologists in their day-to-day tasks; 

▪ Assist in the management of the core shack. 

▪ Sawing drill core samples. 

▪ Receiving and storing boxes of cores. 

▪ Assist in the handling of core boxes, rejects and pulps and other materials; 

▪ Assist logistics planner with field work; 

▪ Perform any other tasks that the project geologist or senior technician deems necessary to ensure the 

efficiency and quality of exploration activities. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

▪ Be in good physical shape, be able to lift heavy weights (maximum of 45 lbs); 

▪ Possession of a valid driver's license is essential (territorial accepted).  

▪ Interest in geology and exploration and mining industry;  

ASSETS  

▪ Ability to communicate in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English or French (trilingual will 

be considered an asset). 

▪ Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook);
