Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Reporting to the Coordinator of Nunavik Sivunitsavut, the Curriculum developer will:
• Participate in the implementation of the existing curriculum and evaluation and/or modification of the
Inuktitut curriculum for the Nunavik Sivunitsavut Program;
• Work on the adaptation and the development of pedagogical material for the Inuktitut courses for the
Nunavik Sivunitsavut Program;
• Review and compile existing resources (literature, dictionaries, films, etc) and render them accessible to
students attending the Nunavik Sivunitsavut Program;
• Perform other relevant tasks at the discretion of the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of specialization such as Education or a graduate of the Kativik Teacher
Training Program.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable
candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts,
as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Fluency in Inuktitut;
• Excellent writing skills in Inuktitut;
• Experience in curriculum design and development the secondary level.
ASSETS:
• Formal training in curriculum development;
• Experience teaching in Nunavik
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category
2104: from $ 56,670 TO $105,432 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated
based on the percentage of the task.
