POSITION: EDUCATION CONSULTANT – FRENCH/INUKTITUT

SALARY: FROM $55,282 TO $102,857 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

DURATION: FROM JANUARY TO JUNE 2026, WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Nunavik Sivunitsavut (NS) Program, the Education Consultant will:

• Develop Inuktitut language programming for the French/Inuktitut NS program

• Analyze possible training paths for the French/Inuktitut NS program

• Participate in the implementation of the courses for the French/Inuktitut NS program

• Ensure appropriate educational content related to Inuit culture

• Participate in the evaluation of the French/Inuktitut NS program and materials

• Advise and support teachers in various matters;

• Be able to lead pedagogical activities for the French/Inuktitut NS program;

• List the educational material produced by Kativik Ilisarniliriniq and develop new material as needed;

• Perform any other tasks deemed relevant and necessary by the Director or Coordinator of Post-Secondary Student Services.

QUALIFICATIONS:

University Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, social sciences, or related fields.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be fluent in Inuktitut and a second language (i.e. French)—fluency in three languages is considered an asset;

• Must be willing to work independently and be in regular communication with various organizations and partners.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104: From $55,282 to $102,857 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
