POSITION: EDUCATION CONSULTANT IN ENGLISH AND SOCIAL SCIENCES – ELEMENTARY (2 POSITIONS)

SALARY: FROM $49,456 TO $92,027 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
• Visit the schools in the communities of Nunavik in order to provide pedagogical support to Elementary English and Social Sciences teachers
• Participate in the development of the programs and the pedagogical material that are Inuit-centred or are founded on Inuit educational values
• Pursue the development and implementation of the Nunavik history program by working with consultants, community members, students and teachers
• Develop educational material and evaluation tools; deliver and evaluate uniform exams
• Follow up on inventories of required material for English and Social Studies in the English sector
• Support specific projects in these teaching fields
• Carry out related tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS:
First level University Degree in a relevant specialization.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
ASSETS:
• Legal qualification to teach from the province of Québec, or Canada
• Experience as a teacher, leader, or trainer
• Computer literacy
• Extensive knowledge of English is essential
• Knowledge of Inuktitut and/or French is an asset.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104: From $49,456 to $92,027 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
