Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director – Programs, the Education Consultant will have the following responsibilities:
• Develop the competencies of the Arts, Literature and Communication program based on the relevant research and the legal and institutional framework.
• Design and develop other programs and courses that lead to CEGEP diplomas based on these competencies.
• Collaborate with partner post-secondary institutions in the adaptation and development of programs to be offered in Nunavik.
• Ensure that educational content relating to Inuit culture is appropriate.
• Design and develop the admissions process and student services related to the Arts, Literature and Communication program.
• Contribute to the development of a sponsorship policy for students enrolled in the program.
• Design and develop a promotional and recruitment process to attract students.
• Facilitate pilot courses that will be included in the program.
• Collaborate with the Adult Education and Vocational Training department to secure space to host the program.
• Perform any other tasks deemed relevant and necessary by the Director or Assistant Director in charge of programs at the Post-Secondary Student Services department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in education, administration, social sciences, or a related field.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Fluency in two of the three working languages of the Board (Inuktitut, French, English).
• Must be able to travel to Nunavik.
• Must be willing to work independently and be in regular communication with various organizations and partners.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104: from $56,670 to $105,432 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
