Job Description

A person who provides education and rehabilitation to users in institutional or external settings according to
intervention programs established in collaboration with the team of professionals in place, with a view to the
adaptation or rehabilitation of the individual or their reintegration into society.
Applies educational techniques using everyday activities, organizing, coordinating, and leading activities planned
in the program to ensure learning and the acquisition of appropriate attitudes and behaviors.
Observes and analyzes the behavior of users, participates in the assessment of their needs and abilities, and
notes their progress by completing the appropriate documents.
CLASS 01
Must hold a college diploma (DEC) in special education techniques or delinquency intervention techniques from
a school recognized by the competent ministry.
This class also includes individuals who hold a college certificate in special education techniques or institutional
rehabilitation.
CLASS 02
This person must hold a 14-year general education diploma recognized by the competent ministry or a
certificate as a special education teacher recognized by the Ministry of Health and Social Services and the
competent ministry, and/or have completed fifty percent (50%) of the general course leading to an official
diploma in institutional rehabilitation or special education (CEGEP courses).
Specific Requirements
*Fluent in English and French, spoken and written. Inuktitut would be an asset;
*Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience;
* Good capacity to adapt to a new cultural environment;
*Be sensitive, understanding and emotionally mature and display a positive attitude;
* Available to work day, evening and week-end shifts;
* Willing to participate to any training considered as being necessary, and offered from the employer or a training institution for a more efficient discharge of his/her duties;
* Share knowledge and abilities, work in collaboration;* Possess a valid driver’s license

Note 1 : All positions may be subject to a selection process, including tests and interviews.
Note 2 : Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will be given priority when qualifications are equal.
