The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement

(section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel.

Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient

organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.

The regional board seeks to fill the following temporary full-time position:

MANAGEMENT AND DEPARTMENT: NUNAVIMMI ILAGIIT PAPATAUVINGA DIRECTION, # 43001, NIP-NUNAVIMI ILAGIIT

Nunavimmi Ilagiit Papatauvinga is an Inuit-led organization that will develop a continuum of youth and family

services based on Inuit knowledge, culture and ways of life. Currently under the umbrella of the Nunavik Board

of Health and Social Services, NIP is set to become independent in the coming months.

DESCRIPTION

Under the authority of the Assistant Director of NIP, the Head of the Ilagiit Councils Program will be responsible

for the promotion, the ongoing improvement and the day-to-day management of the program.

Your responsibilities also include:

• Facilitate Ilagiit Councils;

• Train and support a team of Ilagiit Council facilitators;

• Plan and implement relevant follow-up procedures;

• Coordinate all Ilagiit Council requests;

• Manage all logistical and financial aspects of the program;

• Create and implement a communication plan to promote the services throughout Nunavik;

• Act as liaison with Youth Protection and Social Services personnel;

• Implement and oversee the ongoing evaluation of services delivered to monitor long-term outcomes and

ensure that the program meets community needs.

REQUIREMENTS

• Demonstrated knowledge of the Inuit culture;

• Effective communication skills in Inuktitut, with the ability to communicate in English and/or French;

• Demonstrates autonomy, dynamism and organizational skills;

• Comfortable working with groups;

• Able to create and maintain good working relationships with partners;

• Availability to travel throughout the region.

For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of

relevant experience and training may be considered.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Please note that interviews may take place during the week of August 3, 2026;

• Home base: Position based in the north (Nunavik).

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement shall receive priority.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Temporary full-time position (35 hours/week);

• Day shift;

• Salary according to MSSS rules for supervisory staff, revised annually (class 36 – $83 271 to $108 253).
