The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.

The regional board seeks to fill the following position:

MANAGEMENT AND DEPARTMENT:

NUNAVIMMI ILAGIIT PAPATAUVINGA DIRECTION, # 43001, NIP-NUNAVIMI ILAGIIT

Nunavimmi Ilagiit Papatauvinga is an Inuit-led organization that will develop a continuum of youth and family services based on Inuit knowledge and culture and ways. Currently under the umbrella of the Nunavik Board of Health and Social Services, NIP is set to become independent in the coming months.

DESCRIPTION

Under the authority of the Head of program Ilagiit Councils, the Ilagiit Councils Facililator will be responsible for facilitating Ilagiit Councils in the seven communities of their region and more generally to promote the use of the councils to empower families in supporting their younger members in times of hardship, drawing on traditional Inuit practices and values.

Your responsibilities also include to:

• Organizing the meetings logistics;

• Facilitating Ilagiit Councils discussions in a respectful, open manner;

• Offering adequate follow-ups to ensure continued family support;

• Collaborating with partners and when necessary, act as a liaison with Youth Protection personnel, insuring that Ilagiit Councils are involved in deciding support;

• Participating in various promotional activities and events.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in an appropriate academic discipline such as administrative sciences, humanities, or social sciences;

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered;

• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills;

• Positive management of group dynamics;

• Able to create and maintain a good working relationship with partners;

• Good sense of organization;

Planning, Programming, and Research Officer

• Familiar with Inuit culture and fluent in Inuktitut;

• Availability to travel inside the region.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Please note that interviews may take place during the week of November 17, 2025;

• Home base: Position based in the North (Inukjuak).

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Permanent full-time position (35 hours/week);

• Day shift ;

• Salary according to the conditions of the MSSS and the qualifications of the candidate (30,27$/h to 53,64$/h).
