Employment Conditions – Interpreters Coordinator - Inuulitsivik Health Centre - Hudson Bay Coast Villages

Salary:

The salary scale is in line with the health and social services network and ranges from $74,481 to $96,826 (class 36).

Northern premiums and other employment conditions:

•    Remoteness premium (without dependents) between $203.66 and $240.25 per week or between $358.99 and $423.53 (with dependents) per week, depending on the village

•    Retention premium between $114.99 and $225.18 per week, depending on the village and seniority

•    High cost of living premium: between $58.40 and $188.72 per week, depending on the village

Main Responsibilities – Interpreter Coordinator - Inuulitsivik Health Centre - Hudson Bay Coast Villages

Reporting to the Executive Director, the coordinator will perform some or all of the following functions:

STAFF MANAGEMENT

•    Manage local staff in the following positions:

•    Interpreters and Translators

•    Supervise and coordinate the local staff for the following tasks: preparing and managing work schedules (including staff replacements), managing work attendance (lateness and absenteeism), completing and verifying timesheets, managing leave requests

SERVICE MANAGEMENT

•    Ensure the proper functioning of interpretation and translation services by providing continuous service in all services and villages ;

•    Apply established procedures in case of service breakdowns ;

•    Ensure the establishment, in collaboration with human resources, of a call-back list ;

•    Receive and communicate internal service notes ;

•    Participate in clinical direction meetings when required ;

•    Participate in IHC meetings and committees when required ;

•    Support team members in all their needs ;

EMPLOYEE TRAVEL

•    Support travel and accommodation logistics as needed ;

•    In conjunction with the human resources department, participate in employee recruitment and post available jobs in various locations within the municipality ;

•    Participate in the recruitment process including interviews when requested ;

•    Welcome new employees and participate in their integration and orientation (familiarization with locations, computer use, completing timesheets, leave requests, expense reimbursement forms, etc.) ;

•    Participate in resolving issues or errors related to payroll services, group insurance, or others ;

•    In the case of disability, assist the employee and human resources management in the process ;

•    Support staff in administrative work and participate in training employees.

Academic Requirement

•    High school diploma

or

•    College diploma or equivalent certificate

Experience Requirement

•    Experience in personnel management is an asset.

Other Requirements

•    Bilingualism in Inuktitut and English

•    Personnel management skills and team spirit ;

•    Integrity, respect, and good autonomy skills ;

•    Punctuality and demonstrated attendance in previous jobs ;

•    Ability to assume coordination responsibilities and quality control of a range of administrative and clerical tasks ;

•    Ability to work in a team ;

•    Ability to work with computers (Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, Outlook).
