Janitor - NV of Inukjuak

The municipality of Inukjuak is a municipal body with jurisdiction over the community of Inukjuak located on the east coast of Hudson Bay, in the Nunavik region of Quebec. Is looking for a dynamic person with leadership skills and a track record initiative, reliable and resourceful to work in the capacity of:

Janitor

Full-time

Department: Municipal Office

Status: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. – Monday to Friday Start Date: As soon as possible

Positions: Janitor

Main Responsibilities

The Janitor will perform tasks including, but not limited to:

· Pick-up garbage and sweep, vacuums, and mops floors and stairways.

· Gather and disposes of rubbish and waste materials by hand or with the use of powered equipment. Lock and unlock buildings.

· Makes rounds of buildings and grounds, inspect doors, windows, and locks to see that they are properly and securely fastened.

· Wash windows, screens, doors, walls, floors, and equipment. Clean furniture and equipment.

· Observe appearance and conditions of premises and equipment, reports needed repairs, safety hazards, or conditions requiring outside services.

Requirements

· Knowledge of the methods and tools and equipment of the janitorial services.

· knowledge of proper use of chemicals, such as fertilizers and pesticides.

· Ability to operate and use janitorial tools, equipment, and supplies such as floor detergent, vacuum cleaners, and cleaning compounds and solutions.

· Ability to follow instructions and work independently as needed.
