Inukjuak Community – Kitchen Coordinator 

ABOUT SIRIVIK 

Sirivik is a community food centre in Inukjuak, Nunavik. Sirivik’s mission is to contribute to food 

sovereignty in Nunavik through education, community building and skill development. Sirivik’s 

programming includes Ulluriat, an on-the-land program; our food programs, including Drop-In, 

Emergency Food Support, and Community Meals; and our Agriculture program.

JOB OFFER 

Sirivik is looking for a reliable, motivated and respectful person to join our team as a Kitchen 

Coordinator.

The Kitchen Coordinator works under the supervision of the Apprentice-Manager and supports 

the day-to-day activities of Sirivik’s food programs. This is a hands-on position for someone who 

enjoys working with food, helping the community and being part of a team.

You do not need to know everything, what matters most is being reliable, willing to learn, and 

ready to help.

The Kitchen Coordinator will assist with meal preparation, kitchen cleaning and organization, 

food inventory, receiving supplies, and community meal service.

Main Tasks 

  •  Assist with preparing and cooking meals 
  •  Follow the instruction of the Apprentice-Manager 
  •  Help keep the kitchen and the Food Centre clean and organized 
  •  Follow food safety and hygiene practices 
  •  Assist with serving meals during community meals and activities 
  •  Clean and maintain kitchen equipment 
  •  Work cooperatively with the Sirivik team if needed 

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is:

  •  Reliable and punctual
  •  Consistent and responsible in their work
  •  Comfortable following instruction and asking questions when needed
  •  Willing to learn and improve 
  •  Able to work well with others

Salary and conditions 

Starting at 29.25$/hour

Full time (35hrs/week) – Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
