NATURE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB

NATURE: THE INCUMBENT ENABLES ALL DEPARTMENTS TO SEND THE EQUIPMENT THEY NEED TO PERFORM THEIR TASKS BY AIR OR SEA. IN ADDITION TO MANAGING EQUIPMENT, HE OR SHE IS ALSO RESPONSIBLE FOR SUPERVISING A TEAM OF LOGISTICS CLERKS.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Warehouse Superintendent, the Logistics Supervisor is responsible for receiving, storing, delivering and shipping materials required for Expo site operations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manages the storage of equipment, consumables, and products efficiently, according to internal customer needs, and ensures that equipment is available at the right place and at the right time.

• Maintains efficient warehouse operations management by training employees.

• Develops and implements new business processes to ensure efficient operations and management.

• Coordinates the transport of equipment from the airport and ports to the EXPO site or vice versa.

• Ensures that all packaging and labeling is done according to shipping standards (oversized packages, hazardous materials, etc.).

• Ensures that the Excel file accurately reflects entries in the IT Guide.

• Enforces occupational health and safety standards for employees and ensures proper maintenance of pallet racks and indoor and outdoor storage areas.

• Implements safe work practices while maintaining harmonious working relationships with employees.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

• DEP or DEC in administration, logistics or management.

• Minimum 5 years in a warehouse or inventory management position.

• Expertise in people management, warehouse or inventory.

• Mastery of analytical tools, with basic mathematical and analytical skills an asset.

• Technical and practical knowledge of warehouse equipment such as forklift trucks.

• Knowledge of inventory and warehouse management techniques.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

• Knowledge of the IT Guide program.

• Technical and practical knowledge of the barcode system.

• Training in logistics, procurement, and inventory management is an asset.

• Training in inventory management, hazardous materials management, and customs traffic is an asset.

• Bilingualism (English/French)

• A strong commitment to compliance with health and safety and environmental rules and guidelines.

• A Willingness to work in a multicultural environment and team.

• Excellent skills in developing and maintaining good interpersonal relationships

• Attitudes sought in general: dynamic, autonomous, positive, flexible, versatile and a strong sense of work organization.

• Experience in a northern environment (asset).

• Ability to work under pressure.
