The work location is at Nunavik and the normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks for rest.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Underground Mine Supervisor, the mine labourer plays an essential role by assisting crews and contributing to the smooth and safe execution of mining operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Sharpen and grind drill bits and safely repair drilling hammers while maintaining a high standard of quality;

• Inspect equipment before and after each shift;

• Perform tasks in accordance with current safety standards (road safety and occupational health and safety);

• Perform any other tasks as required by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Hold a Level 5 high school diploma or equivalent;

• Class 5 driver's license (territorial accepted);

• Have the ability to lift loads up to 20 kg;

• Hold an explosive permit (Condition of employment);

• Training required to perform the work will be provided on site.

ASSETS

• Experience in a similar position;

• Able to communicate orally and written in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, English or French (trilingual will be considered an asset).
