Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
FUNCTION & TASKS:
Reporting to the Assistant Directorate of the Material Resources Service (Maintenance Sector), the coordinator is responsible for the following tasks: coordination, supervision, evaluation and development of programs and activities relating to the management
and optimal use of the school board's material resources with respect to major projects. Key responsibilities also include:
• Coordinate the implementation of minor renovation projects by assessing costs, preparing for shipment of materials and monitoring the status of the work.
• Plan and coordinate interactions between the various parties involved in the minor renovation project (principal, maintenance team, occupants, contractors, professionals (if needed) and authorities (permits, etc.);
• Prioritize rénovation needs;
• Coordinate and evaluate the work performed.
• Ensure compliance with established budgets and expenditures, develop and prepare bids for projects. In some cases, manage the purchase and receipt of materials; se travel frequently to Nunavik communities to supervise the condition of construction sites an d ensure compliance with plans and the smooth running of work.
• Supervise, mentor and manage the employees under his/her responsibility.
• Any other task assigned by the Assistant Directorate (Maintenance Sector) of the Material Resources Service.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Hold an undergraduate degree in a relevant field, certifying a minimum of three years of university study, or hold a senior or managerial position.
• Ten (10) years of relevant experience.
The School Board may, at its discretion, disregard the above qualifications if it deems the application of a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) to be appropriate and the person agrees to follow a training program determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Proficiency in at least two (2) of the three (3) official languages of work of the school board (Inuktitut, French, English);
• Proven leadership and organizational capacity skills;
• Knowledge of the operation of an elementary or secondary school.
• In -depth knowledge of renovation project management;
• Knowledge of the Act respecting contracting by public bodies , an asset;
• Good understanding of the Quebec Building Code and northern building construction techniques;
• Able to travel frequently in Nunavik, as required;
• Must hold a valid driver's license;
• Knowledge of the GIESS platform (Maximo) is an asset.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
Class 00 -08 in accordance with Kativik Ilisarniliriniq's executive working conditions: from $101,612 to $135,480 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are given as a percentage of the task.
