The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks paid i.e., 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks paid to rest.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES 

▪ Support, maintain, and optimize the administrative network infrastructure (Cisco iOS-XE/Nexus), as well as the firewall and routing infrastructure (Fortinet, Mikrotik)

▪ Support, maintain, and optimize the production network infrastructure (OT) (Cisco, Fortinet, Schneider)

▪ In collaboration with the telecom technician, support and maintain satellite (C-Band, OneWeb, Starlink), microwave (Cambium, AirMux), and LTE communication systems

▪ Support integration with the Azure hybrid network infrastructure

▪ Ensure the integrity and security of the network infrastructure

▪ Provide level 2 and 3 technical supports to users

▪ Establish and implement a strategy to improve the security and resilience of the company's network

▪ Actively participate in the IT department's continuous improvement, expansion, and maintenance projects, as well as in purchasing processes

▪ Participate in testing and maintaining the infrastructure for the disaster recovery system

▪ Maintain documentation related to the various systems and write procedure reports

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Administration of the company's network infrastructure

2. Administration of network status monitoring systems

3. On rotation, providing emergency support outside regular hours

4. Level 2 and 3 user support

5. Participation in implementation windows outside regular hours

6. Creation of procedures and documentation for existing systems

7. Analysis and implementation of update and improvement projects

8. In collaboration with the IT supervisor, participation in the purchasing process.

REQUIREMENTS

▪ College diploma (DEC) or bachelor's degree in computer science with a minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience

▪ Extensive experience in LAN and WAN network administration, including firewalls, routing, VLAN, VPN/GRE, OSPF, MPLS/VPLS

▪ In-depth knowledge of ring network protocols (RTP/RSTP, REP, MRP)

▪ In-depth knowledge of OT technologies (Modbus, OPC, Profinet)

▪ Knowledge of satellite and microwave communications as an asset

▪ Cisco CCNA and Fortinet NSE certification as an asset.

▪ Bilingualism in French/English (spoken and written) essential.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Physical effort: The incumbent performs most of their work at a computer. The job requires physical effort only occasionally (lifting loads of 20 kg or less).

Work environment: Most of the work is performed in an office environment, except for telecommunications sites. 

However, the incumbent may be required to work occasionally in the plant and outdoors.

Mental stress: Dealing with numerous contacts makes the work intense and sometimes stressful. In the event of a breakdown, customers may be pressing or even aggressive, given the important role of IT in daily operations. 

Occasional work outside regular hours and rotations also affect stress levels.
