Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.
Under the general supervision of the Assistant Director of IT Services, the Network Analyst will be responsible for
ensuring the continuity of operational services including Microsoft domains, server environment management,
multi-site VPN links, backups and the management of software and material components of the LAN/WAN
infrastructure. The Network Analyst will also be expected to work and support the team in place, analyze and
align technological needs in order to meet to the business needs and goals of the school board’s strategic plan,
propose infrastructure development or optimization plans and ensure their execution.
FUNCTION & DUTIES:
• Actively participate in the server and network services deployment project for all educational facilities in the
14 communities of Nunavik;
• Implement and manage firewalls, intruder detection systems and virus protection systems;
• Ensure the administration, deployment, control, programming, monitoring and safety of wired or wireless
network infrastructures;
• Actively participate in architecture and technological development projects, help define update plans and
optimization of software or material component plans and upgrade plans for the existing infrastructure;
• Make diagnoses, identify errors and incidents and provide solutions (log analysis, alerts, diagnostic tools,
etc.);
• Ensure compliance with industry best practices, particularly in terms of safety;
• Ensure the storage and protection of data and software;
• Draft and update documentation (operational and functional procedures, network master plans, systems
architecture, technical specifications, training manuals, etc.);
• Ensure the highest level of support;
• Perform any other job-related duties requested by their superior.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Undergraduate degree in computer science or in a field related to the position.
The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the aforementioned qualifications if it finds a suitable
candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as
a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.
REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar position;
• Experience with Microsoft technologies: Windows Server, SQL Server, DFS, OneDrive, SCCM, SCOM, Active
Directory, GPO, Office 365, Azure web services, IIS, Exchange, PowerShell;
• Experience with multi-site LAN and WAN networks, communication protocols, VPN and firewalls;
• Experience with virtualization technologies Hyper-V and Vmware;
• Experience with monitoring and supervision tools;
• Experience avec NAS/SAN storage systems;
• Experience or knowledge of network services or protocols: DNS, DHCP, WINS, HTTPS, FTP, LDAP, SMB, NFS,
CIFS, POP, SMTP, HTTPS, Webdav, SNMP, ICMP, Telnet, NAT, routing, proxy;
• Be prepared to travel to Nunavik as needed;
• Can be reached at any time and is ready to intervene, as needed, after an emergency;
• Strong analytical skills, proactive and autonomous;
• Ability to work as part of a team.
ASSETS:
• Knowledge or experience with the Mac OS, Mozaïk, Microsoft Dynamics systems, scripting and programming
language, Watchguard firewall, Aruba equipment, cloud-based technologies, website management, MDM
(Mosyle) systems, safety standards;
• Equivalent work experience with a school board or in the education sector.
CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:
In accordance with the SPPENOM Collective Agreement for Professionals. This position belongs to job category
2120: from $48,689 to $83,462 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated
based on the percentage of the task.
