The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec
Agreement (Chapter 15) and the Act Respecting Health Services and Social Services, oversees the entire territory north of the
55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social service programs to the needs of the population and the realities of
the region, while ensuring the effective organization of the resources made available to Nunavik.
The Board is seeking to fill the following temporary assignment within its NIP team:

DEPARTMENT AND SERVICE: NUNAVIMMI ILAGIIT PAPATAUVINGA DIRECTORATE, # 43001, NIP-NUNAVIMMI ILAGIIT
Nunavimmi Ilagiit Papatauvinga (NIP) is an Inuit-led organization whose mission is to develop a continuum of
services that are culturally appropriate and responsive to the needs of Nunavik youth and families. Currently
operating under the authority of the NRBHSS, NIP is expected to become an independent organization in the coming months.
DESCRIPTION
Tuqqavik is a service in development where youth and families will go when they need help or are seeking
support. This service will function as a centralized intake and access point within the service delivery model
(Intake). Tuqqavik workers will receive requests and ensure that Nunavimmiut are directed to the appropriate
services, whether the needs involve support services or protection-related concerns.
Once fully implemented, Tuqqavik will improve access to and coordination of services for children, youth, and
families. The service will provide rapid assessments, simplified access to programs, and personalized referrals. It
will also offer tailored support to families.
The NIP Tuqqavik Child and Family Support Worker is a fontline member of the Sivulirisimautiit team. They serve
as the first point of contact for Inuit children and families. They work closely with service providers and
community organizations, ensuring that interventions are respectful, culturally grounded, and family-centered.
Your responsibilities include:
• Receive and manage service requests from youth, families, and partners;
• Provide individualized referrals and guide parents throughout the process of accessing appropriate services
and programs;
• Support service providers in assessing situations and determining service needs;
• Maintain contact with families through various means, including telephone, email, in-person meetings, and
home visits;
• Participate in team meetings and working committees as required;
• Collect data in accordance with internal policies;
• Participate in emergency interventions when necessary.
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will be given priority
REQUIREMENTS
• For beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, an equivalent combination of relevant
training and experience may be considered;
• Strong communication skills in Inuktitut, with the ability to communicate in English and/or French;
• Demonstrated knowledge of Inuit culture and communities;
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish meaningful and trusting relationships with children
and families;
• Ability to remain calm in difficult situations and collaborate with professionals from various sectors;
• Ability to work independently while complying with internal policies, procedures, and guidelines;
• Knowledge of the Nunavik child, youth, and family services network will be considered an asset;
• Experience in intake and/or frontline intervention roles (considered an asset);
• Flexibility and availability to travel and work variable schedules as required.

• Please note that interviews may be conducted during the week of August 3, 2026;
• Work Location: Inukjuak.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Full-time temporary assignment, 35 hours per week;
• Day shift;
• Salary according to MSSS conditions and the candidate’s qualifications ($28.40/hour to $40.88/hour).
Employees who relocate to Nunavik may be eligible for various premiums, including retention, isolation, and
cost-of-living allowances. For employees hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing is provided,
along with reimbursement of moving and storage expenses. In addition, annual personal travel from Kuujjuaq
to the point of hire is included, along with other benefits.
