The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement 

(Chapter 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. 

Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the realities of the region, while ensuring the 

efficient organization of the resources available to the Nunavik region. 

The Regional Board wishes to fill the following temporary assignment:

DEPARTMENT AND SERVICE: PUBLIC HEALTH – # 40007 

DESCRIPTION 

Under the authority of the Coordinator of Infectious Diseases and Vaccination and Screening Operations, the 

Nursing Advisor contributes to the implementation of the regional public health action plan for immunization. 

More specifically, your responsibilities include: 

• Ensure regional management of immunizing products (IPM), including the planning, monitoring, and 

optimization of supplies required for vaccination activities with partners (e.g., health centres, mining 

companies); conduct audits of regional distributors and vaccination sites; and maintain communications 

with provincial authorities; 

• Act as a resource person and subject-matter expert in immunization for clinicians in health centres and 

other partners; 

• Develop and deliver immunization training activities for clinicians and partners, both in person and 

virtually; 

• Manage cold chain breaks and provide the appropriate recommendations; 

• Collaborate with Health Centres in the implementation of school-based and seasonal vaccination 

campaigns; 

• Support regional projects aimed at integrating preventive clinical vaccination practices in collaboration 

with health centre partners; 

• Represent the region on various regional and provincial immunization committees and networks (e.g., the 

Immunization Respondents Network); 

• Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of strategies, tools, and approaches that 

improve vaccination services; 

• Contribute to the implementation of initiatives and community projects promoting vaccination and the 

prevention of vaccine-preventable diseases; 

• Promote the dissemination and adoption of ministerial guidelines, Québec Immunization Protocol 

recommendations, and immunization best practices among regional partners; 

• Collaborate in surveillance, evaluation, and continuous quality improvement activities related to regional 

vaccination programs; 

• May be called upon to participate in protection activities (e.g., epidemiological investigations) during 

situations requiring resource mobilization within the infectious diseases team. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement, a combination 

of relevant education and experience may be considered; 

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing and membership in the OIIQ (mandatory requirement); 

• Experience developing and delivering immunization training programs, considered an asset; 

• Significant experience in immunization within a public health department, with excellent knowledge of 

vaccination service planning, considered an asset; 

• Project management experience, with demonstrated ability to carry projects through from planning to 

completion and rigorous follow-up, considered an asset; 

• Commitment to health equity, reconciliation, and the implementation of Joyce’s Principle, with 

demonstrated cultural safety and humility in adapting interactions to the realities of Nunavimmiut; 

• Professional autonomy, strong organizational skills, collaborative leadership, and excellent communication 

abilities in a multicultural and multidisciplinary environment; 

• Understanding of the socio-cultural context of Nunavik and Inuit culture, considered an asset; 

• Proficiency in at least two of Nunavik’s three languages (French, English, Inuktitut), as well as strong 

knowledge of Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and project 

management platforms. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

• Please note that interviews may be held during the week of September 7 or September 14, 2026; 

• Home base: Relocation to the North (Kuujjuaq) is preferred; however, remote work from Southern Québec 

with occasional travel is possible based on operational needs. 

Priority will be given to candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement. 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Full-time temporary assignment for a period of three (3) years, 37.5 hours per week; 

• Day shift, Monday to Friday; 

• Salary according to MSSS conditions and the candidate’s qualifications ($31.48/hr to $57.75/hr). 

Northern Benefits: Employees who relocate to Nunavik may be eligible for various premiums, including retention 

and attraction premiums, remoteness premiums, and food transportation allowances. For employees hired 

from locations more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing is provided, along with reimbursement of 

moving and storage expenses. In addition, annual personal trips between Kuujjuaq and the point of hire are 

included, along with other benefits.
