On-the-land Directors (2 positions) - Saqijuq
JOB OPPORTUNITY - 2 ON-THE-LAND DIRECTORS
Status: Full-time position, 35 hours a week, flexible - Summer schedule with Friday afternoon off
Location: Nunavik - Frequent travel throughout Saqijuq serviced communities
Salary: Between $91,698 and $137,593 according to experience

As an On-The-Land (OTL) Director, you actively participate in the promotion and deployment of Saqijuq’s OTL program’s mission. Your leadership will allow you to mobilize
and encourage your team to collaborate in the sharing of traditional knowledge and in the achievement of the program’s objectives.
Responsibilities include:
• Management:
- Manage the OTL team composition and development in accordance with the high
management (Board of Directors, and Executive Director) vision and objectives.
- Identify the team training needs and coordinate the training sessions.
- Evaluate the performance of the team members at the end of their probation period.
- Attend and participate in Saqijuq’s management meetings.
- Organize and hold OTL coordination team meetings with the OTL Team Leaders.
- Collect and follow-up on OTL statistics.
- Manage the invoices and the expenses associated with the OTL activities.
• Community involvement:
- Plan, create and participate in cultural activities within the community.
- Coordinate and hold activities and workshops with various partners.
- Identify potential office spaces and workshops to accommodate Saqijuq activities.
- Ensure follow up on references with the court system and the communities.
- Collaborate with various organizations and represent Saqijuq in different committees.
- Travel to other communities, when needed.
- Perform any other tasks related to the OTL program.
Requirements:
• Education:
- Training in project management and/or administration, an asset.
• Work experience:
- Two (2) years of experience in management
- Five (5) years of experience in the health and social services network, an asset.
- Excellent knowledge of traditional and cultural ways of teaching.
- Excellent knowledge of the Inuit culture and good knowledge of the land.
- Knowledge of the justice system and its operations, an asset.
• Knowledge and skills:
- Practical knowledge of the MS Office suite (Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
- Diplomatic sense, flexibility, and perseverance.
- Tolerance for ambiguity and change.
• Languages:
Ability to read, write and speak Inuktitut and English (French, an asset)
