The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (RRSSSN), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (Chapter 15) and the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the needs of the population and the realities of the region and to ensure the effective organization of resources available to the Nunavik region.

The Regional Board is seeking to fill the following permanent position:

DIRECTORATE AND DEPARTMENT:

PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT, # 40009, SURVEILLANCE AND PLANNING

DESCRIPTION

Under the authority of the Public Health Surveillance and Planning Coordinator and in collaboration with the Public Health Department management team, the incumbent will be responsible for coordinating the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Nunavik Regional Public Health Action Plan (PAR).

Your responsibilities also include :

• Ensuring that work proceeds smoothly;

• Liaising and actively collaborating with internal and external management partners;

• Contributing to the Regional Action Plan update process;

• Coordinating the development of tools and mechanisms for monitoring public health activities;

• Contributing to management reporting (e.g., annual reports) to donors.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a bachelor's degree in a relevant academic discipline such as administrative sciences, humanities, or social sciences;

• University training in public health, epidemiology, or another related discipline will be considered an asset;

• Experience in planning and monitoring health performance indicators will be considered an asset;

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered;

• Experience in Nunavik will be considered an asset;

• Experience in monitoring and evaluating health projects/programs;

• Experience in facilitating collaborative and decision-making processes;

• Good knowledge of public health programs and policies;

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in at least two of the three languages used in Nunavik (English, Inuktitut, French);

• Dynamism, autonomy, and sense of responsibility;

• Good ability to interpret quantitative and qualitative data;

• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Interviews scheduled for the week of August 25, 2025;

Home base: position primarily based in the North (Kuujjuaq). Residence in the North is prioritized; however, teleworking from the South is possible depending on operational needs. Please note that travel to the North may be required depending on departmental activities.

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will be given priority.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Permanent full-time position, 35 hours/week;

• Day shift;

• Salary according to the conditions of the MSSS and the qualifications of the candidate ($30.27/hour to $53.64/hour).
