Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement
(Chapter 15) and the Act Respecting Health Services and Social Services, serves the entire territory north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is
to adapt health and social services programs to the needs of the population and the realities of the region, while ensuring the effective
organization of the resources available to Nunavik.
The Regional Board wishes to fill the following temporary assignment:

DESCRIPTION
Under the supervision of the Psychosocial Affairs Coordinator, the Planning, Programming and Research Officer
(PPRO) coordinates and supports initiatives aimed at promoting the well-being of Elders, as well as preventing
and combating the mistreatment of older adults and vulnerable persons.
Working in collaboration with regional partners and communities, the individual assigned to this temporary
assignment participates in needs assessments, service development, stakeholder engagement, and the
implementation of actions that promote respectful and supportive care. The incumbent also acts as a resource
person for partners and contributes to the continuous improvement of services offered to Nunavimmiut.
Responsibilities also include:
• Coordinating regional actions to prevent and combat the mistreatment of older adults and vulnerable
persons;
• Facilitating committees and ensuring collaboration among network and community partners;
• Contributing to the development, implementation, and monitoring of action plans and service pathways;
• Conducting analyses, formulating recommendations, and supporting decision-making processes;
• Planning awareness, training, and knowledge transfer activities;
• Acting as a liaison with the MSSS and provincial partners.
REQUIREMENTS
• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field of study such as administration, human sciences, or social sciences.
For candidates who are beneficiaries under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, an equivalent
combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

• Ability to work with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds;
• Sensitivity to northern, intercultural, and community realities;
• Proficiency, both oral and written, in two (2) of the three (3) languages used in Nunavik (French, English, and Inuktitut).
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Please note that interviews may be conducted during the week of August 10, 2026;
• Work location: Position based in Kuujjuaq or remote work, with regular presence in Nunavik.
Candidates who are beneficiaries under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will be given priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Full-time temporary assignment, 35 hours per week, for a period of two (2) years;
• Day shift, Monday to Friday schedule;
• Salary according to MSSS conditions and the candidate's qualifications ($31.03/hour to $54.98/hour).
Northern Benefits: Employees who relocate to Nunavik may be eligible for various premiums, including an
attraction and retention bonus, an isolation allowance, and a food transportation allowance. For individuals hired
from more than 50 km outside Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing is provided, along with reimbursement of moving and
storage expenses. In addition, annual personal trips between Kuujjuaq and the point of hire are included, along
with other benefits.
