The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement
(section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel.
Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient
organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.
The regional board seeks to fill the following temporary assignment:

DESCRIPTION
Under the authority of the prevention and health promotion coordinator and as part of the Nutrition/Food
Security team, the agent will support the team by being responsible for supporting local food projects across
Nunavik. This role contributes to food sovereignty in Nunavik.
Your responsibilities also include:
• Facilitate in-person training sessions and collaborate on the development of tools for local food
projects;
• Support local food projects in the implementation of community-based activities and in the
development of new local food projects;
• Share best practices and evidence-based nutrition information with the population;
• Provide ongoing operational support for funding applications, budgeting, report writing and financial
management;
• Provide nutrition education to managers of local food projects and communities, through various
means of communication (in-person, Facebook Live, booths, radio, etc.);
• Collaborate with the public health nutritionists on regional campaigns;
• Encourage traditional lifestyles and practices;
• Network with stakeholders and collaborate with partners on projects related to food security.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must hold a bachelor's degree in an appropriate academic discipline such as business administration, human
sciences, or social sciences;
• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of
relevant experience and education may be considered;
• Experience with food projects, cooking, and nutrition education;
• Experience facilitating training and workshops (an asset);
• Be able to travel across Nunavik frequently;
• Initiative and ability to work and travel independently;
• Oral and written communication skills in Inuktitut and one of the two other languages used in Nunavik (French
or English);
• Willing to receive training.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Please note that interviews will potentially be conducted during the week of March 1
st, 2026;
• Home base: Assignment based in the North (Kuujjuaq).
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement shall receive priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Temporary full-time assignment (35 hours/week) for a period of one year with the possibility of renewal;
• Day shift;
• Salary according to the conditions of the MSSS and the qualifications of the candidate ($30.27/h
to $53.64/h).
