The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement 

(Chapter 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers all territory located north of the 55th parallel. 

Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the needs of the population and the realities of the region, and to ensure the 

efficient organization of resources made available to the Nunavik region. 

The Regional Board is seeking to fill the following permanent position:

DEPARTMENT AND SERVICE: PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT – SERVICE #40003 – OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH 

DESCRIPTION 

Under the supervision of the Occupational Health and Environmental Health Coordinator, the Planning, 

Programming and Research Officer provides professional support by providing advice, developing initiatives, 

monitoring activities, and supporting stakeholders. He or she contributes to the planning, preparation, and 

implementation of services and projects related to surveillance, prevention, promotion, and protection of public 

health for the Occupational and Environmental Health team. 

Your responsibilities also include: 

• Collaborating on epidemiological investigations and the follow-up of notifiable diseases of chemical or 

physical origin (chemical MADO), and ensuring data entry; 

• Participating in the planning and preparation of the team’s response to public health emergencies; 

• Contributing to the development of service offerings as well as communication, intervention, and 

organizational tools; 

• Providing advisory support and participating in the follow-up of occupational health (OH) and environmental 

health (EH) research projects conducted by external partners; 

• Supporting the Occupational Health (OH) and Environmental Health (EH) team in needs assessments, project 

evaluation, and knowledge transfer processes; 

• Collaborating with the surveillance team to identify indicators for the surveillance plan; 

• Working with the Occupational Health Information System (SISAT) lead to ensure data are up to date, 

harmonized, and consistent; 

• Participating in working groups, committees, or communities of practice, and performing any other tasks as 

requested by the immediate supervisor. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of 

relevant education and experience may be considered; 

• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field such as administrative sciences, humanities, or social 

sciences; 

• Must hold a master’s degree in public health, environmental health, occupational health, or a related field; 

• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in public health, environmental health, or occupational health; 

• Experience in Nunavik and knowledge of Inuit culture, or experience in an intercultural or Indigenous context, 

will be considered assets;  

• Experience with the Occupational Health Information System (SISAT) will be considered an asset; 

• Excellent command of French and English, both spoken and written (knowledge of conversational Inuktitut is 

a significant asset); 

• Professional autonomy, strong interpersonal skills, and communication and knowledge translation abilities; 

• Rigor in data analysis, validation, follow-up, and reporting; 

• Strong planning skills and ability to support the delivery of services and projects, including in public health 

emergency contexts. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

• Please note that interviews are expected to take place during the weeks of June 15 and June 22, 2026; 

• Work location: Remote position, with occasional travel to Nunavik communities. 

Beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will be given priority 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Permanent full-time position, 35 hours per week; 

• Day shift; 

• Salary according to MSSS conditions and candidate qualifications ($31.03/hour to $54.98/hour).

isolation, and cost-of-living allowances. For individuals hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing 

is provided, along with reimbursement of moving and storage expenses. In addition, annual personal trips 

between Kuujjuaq and the point of hire are included, along with other benefits.
