The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement 

(section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. 

Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient 

organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.

MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE: PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING, # 41005 – MEDICAL AFFAIRS AND PHYSICAL HEALTH

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the authority of the Coordinator of Medical Affairs and Physical Health, the individual works in collaboration with 

regional partners to coordinate, implement, and maintain quality services that are accessible, continuous, and safe, in 

alignment with regional and national priorities.

They carry out the activities required to identify and assess regional resources and needs. They design and propose 

organizational plans to ensure appropriate service planning and provide guidance regarding the implementation or 

enhancement of services.

They coordinate the implementation of physical health service corridors across the various levels of care (local, regional, 

and university), oversee the development of service agreements, and ensure the continuity of services delivered to the 

population.

They also assume specific mandates and serve as resource for teams within regional institutions and the NRBHSS, always 

with a view to strengthening continuity in service delivery.

Your responsibilities also include:

• Oversee the development of the home support continuum;

• Lead the operation of various committees and working groups;

• Participate in meetings with the MSSS and other partners regarding responsibilities within their portfolio;

• Manage communications, including preparing agendas, minutes, documents, action plans, and decision-making 

templates, to keep stakeholders informed and better coordinate their actions;

• Contribute to the development of tools for updating strategic orientations, prepare performance reports, and 

participate in systematic analysis of results;

• Oversee the program’s development, analysis, and monitoring, including assessing achievement of targets and 

expected outcomes;

• Conduct research to identify and evaluate resources and needs;

• Develop and propose plans and programs to ensure effective service planning;

• Guide the implementation or improvement of programs and/or services;

• Monitor budgets and report to the relevant authorities;

• Lead the development and launch of new services;

• Take on specific assignments and serve as a resource for institutional teams and the NRBHSS to enhance service 

continuity;

• Collaborate with team members, partners, and other management teams;

• Perform any other related tasks as requested by your immediate supervisor, including involvement in new projects.

REQUIREMENTS

• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate university discipline such as administration, human sciences, or social 

sciences;

• For candidates benefiting from the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant experience 

and training may be considered;

• Must have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in a role related to project management or service 

development;

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and engage effectively with 

diverse stakeholders;

• Dynamism, autonomy, flexibility, thoroughness, and a sense of responsibility;

• Excellent oral and written proficiency in two of the three languages used in the region (Inuktitut, English, French).

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week of March 16, 2026;

• Primary work location: Northern installation is prioritized, though remote work from the South may be possible 

depending on operational needs. Note that travel to the North may be required based on service activities.

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement shall receive priority.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Permanent full-time position (35 hours per week);

• Remote work assignment;

• Day shift;

• Salary according to the conditions of the MSSS and the qualifications of the candidate ($30.27/h to $53.64/h).

Northern benefits: Employees who settle in Nunavik can benefit from a variety of bonuses, including a retention bonus, a 

remoteness bonus and a cost-of-living bonus. For those hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq,

low-cost housing is offered, along with reimbursement of moving and storage costs. In addition, annual personal trips from 

Kuujjuaq to the point of hire are included, along with other benefits.
