The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement 

(section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. 

Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient 

organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.

The regional board seeks to fill the following temporary three-year assignment:

DESCRIPTION

Under the supervision of the Regional Coordinator for Infectious Diseases and in close collaboration with the 

Assistant Head Nurse, Team Lead for Tuberculosis Elimination, the Planning, Programming and Research Officer 

(PPRO) – Tuberculosis Control contributes to integrating Inuit perspectives, community realities, and lived 

experiences into the development of regional tuberculosis elimination strategies. This role is grounded in a 

collaborative, multidisciplinary approach and aims to strengthen culturally rooted, community-centred

interventions. The PPRO supports and complements the team’s ongoing efforts to strengthen and sustain the 

tuberculosis elimination program in Nunavik. In this context, in-depth knowledge of Inuit culture, language, and 

community dynamics is essential. Lived experience and a strong understanding of the realities of Nunavik are 

highly valued.

Your responsibilities also include:

• Contributing to the planning and co-development of tuberculosis prevention and elimination initiatives;

• Supporting the integration of Inuit perspectives into tools, communication materials, engagement 

strategies and community activities;

• Participating in regional and national working groups such as the Canadian Tuberculosis Elimination

Network, the Canadian Tuberculosis Control Network and the Inuit Tapiriit Kanatami (ITK) TB Elimination 

Leads Working Group;

• Assisting in the preparation of key messages, presentations, and briefing notes that reflect the realities of 

Nunavik;

• Supporting community engagement activities and helping to facilitate respectful collaboration with local 

partners, Elders and organizations;

• Contributing to the drafting and revision of the 2025–2030 Nunavik Tuberculosis Elimination Plan;

• Supporting team efforts to strengthen cultural safety, mutual understanding, and a positive work 

environment.

REQUIREMENTS

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of 

relevant experience and training will be considered;

• Proficiency in Inuktitut and English (French is an asset);

• Must hold a bachelor's degree in an appropriate academic discipline such as administrative sciences, 

human sciences, or social sciences;

• In‑depth knowledge of Nunavik communities, culture, history, and social realities;

• Work experience with Inuit communities, organizations, or committees;

• Interest in public health, community well-being, or cultural safety;

• Strong communication skills;

• Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment;

• Comfortable participating in meetings and discussions with partners at various levels;

• Comfortable working remotely and traveling to communities in Nunavik as well as to Montréal, Québec 

City, Ottawa, etc.;

• Strong organizational and facilitation skills;

• Good leadership skills.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Please note that interviews will potentially be conducted during the week of March 9, 2026.

• Home base: Residence in the North is prioritized; however, teleworking from the South is possible 

depending on operational needs. Please note that travel to the North may be required depending on 

training activities.

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement shall receive priority.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Temporary full-time assignment for three years; 

• Day shift;

• Salary in accordance with MSSS conditions and candidate qualifications ($30.27/h to $53.64/h).

Northern benefits: Employees who settle in Nunavik can benefit from a variety of bonuses, including a retention 

bonus, a remoteness bonus and a cost-of-living bonus. For those hired more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq,

low-cost housing is offered, along with reimbursement of moving and storage costs. In addition, annual personal 

trips from Kuujjuaq to the hiring point and other benefits.
