The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.
The regional board seeks to fill the following temporary assignment:

MANAGEMENT AND SERVICE: PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT, # 40002, PUBLIC HEALTH OPER
DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the director of public health and under the supervision of the surveillance and planning
coordinator, the role of the officer will be to contribute to the analysis and management of survey data, the production of reports, and the issuance of recommendations following the collection of data from health surveys in Nunavik. The officer will contribute to the whole process of planning and implementing health surveys.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Collaborate in the design and planning of health surveys (including reviewing collection tools and methodology);
• Collaborate with other public health teams and external stakeholders regarding survey content development and results dissemination;
• Develop, validate and optimize data analysis tools;
• Assist in the development of dissemination strategies for survey results;
• Develop, design, and implement statistical sampling methodologies and protocols in accordance with program needs and constraints;
• Analyze and interpret survey data considering the realities of the field, with the support of the survey team;
• Perform a variety of tasks related to data management;
• During periods of data collection, perform data quality checks and technical assistance to interviewers and field workers in data cleaning;
• Validate the various survey processes, including the questionnaire, and data collection, through interviews and focus groups;
• Collaborate in the development of various surveillance products;
• Issue recommendations following the analysis of survey data.
REQUIREMENTS
• Must have a bachelor's degree in an appropriate academic discipline such as business administration, humanities or social sciences;
• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered;
• Strong skills in data analysis, interpretation, and statistical methodologies related to health surveys;
• Experience in developing and optimizing data collection tools and survey protocols;
• Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and external partners;
• Proven capacity to manage large datasets, including data cleaning and validation;
• Excellent written communication skills to contribute to report writing and result dissemination;
• Sensitivity and adaptability to the cultural and logistical realities of working in Nunavik or other remote regions;
• Proficiency in at least two of the three languages used in the region: Inuktitut, English or French.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Interviews will potentially be conducted during the week of November 24th, 2025;
• Successful candidates will be required to take a practical test after the interview to validate their skills in relation to the requirements.
• Home base: Residence in the North is prioritized; however, teleworking from the South is possible depending on operational needs. Please note that travel to the North may be required depending on training activities.
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Temporary full-time assignment (35hours/week) maternity leave replacement;
• Day shift;
• Salary according to the conditions of the MSSS and the qualifications of the candidate ($30.27/h to $53.64/h).
