The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement
(Chapter 15) and the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. Its
mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the needs of the population and to the realities of the region, and to ensure an
efficient organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.
The Regional Board is seeking to fill the following permanent position:

DESCRIPTION
Under the authority of the Coordinator for Social Affairs and Traditional Well-Being, the incumbent will support
Nunavik communities in the planning, coordination and implementation of the Nunami program’s projects, a
land-based mental wellness program.
The incumbent contributes to the development and support of initiatives that promote mental wellness and
strengthen protective factors across all age groups, through cultural and on-the-land activities. The position
combines planning and project management responsibilities, community collaboration and field presence,
working closely with other Nunami officers, community partners and the NRBHSS internal teams.
1. Planning, coordination and project management
− Contribute to the planning, monitoring and consistency of the Nunami program’s projects;
− Receive, analyze and support the development of project and funding requests from the communities;
− Support community promoters in planning, carrying out and monitoring their activities;
− Track timelines, budgets, reporting requirements and project documentation;
− Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of the Nunami program.
2. Promotion and community partnerships
− Promote the Nunami program in the communities, including meetings with local organizations and
partners (including northern municipal administrations);
− Support promoters in completing funding request forms, as needed;
− Maintain and strengthen partnerships with local organizations (municipalities, committees, community
organizations, family houses, etc.).
3. On-the-land activities and field presence
− Take part in planning and carrying out on-the-land activities that promote mental wellness and prevention;
− Initiate, as needed, on-the-land activities that do not require clinical intervention;
− As needed, be present during certain on-the-land activities and share knowledge and field observations
with the team.
4. Traditional well-being and team collaboration
− Ensure the integration of Inuit traditional well-being values, knowledge and practices into projects and
activities;
− Foster intergenerational communication and the strengthening of family and community ties;
− Work closely with the other Nunami officers and the NRBHSS teams.
REQUIREMENTS
• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a relevant
combination of experience and training may be considered;
• Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline, such as humanities, health or social sciences;
• Understanding of the Inuit cultural context and experience within a Nunavik organization (mandatory);
• Relevant experience in a role associated with Inuit traditional well-being practices;
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork and collaboration skills with various types of stakeholders;
• Dynamism, autonomy, flexibility, rigour and a sense of responsibility;
• Proficiency in Inuktitut (spoken and written), as well as English or French.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Work location: Kuujjuaq (on-site presence required). Travel to Nunavik communities should be
expected as needed;
• The position is open to candidates from other communities, with an opportunity to settle in Kuujjuaq.
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will be given priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Full-time permanent position, 35 hours/week;
• Day shift;
• Salary according to MSSS conditions and the candidate’s qualifications ($31.03/hr to $54.98/hr).
Northern benefits: Employees who settle in Nunavik may be eligible for various premiums, including a retention
premium, a remoteness premium and a cost-of-living premium. For those hired more than 50 km from
Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing is provided, along with reimbursement of moving and storage costs. In addition,
annual personal trips from Kuujjuaq to the point of hire are included, as well as other benefits.
