The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.
The regional board seeks to fill the following temporary assignment:

MANAGEMENT AND DEPARTMENT: PUBLIC HEALTH DIRECTORATE TO BE SPECIFIED, # 40002- SPUB OPERATIONS
DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Public Health, the Project Officer will support the Public Health Department in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of assigned projects. They will actively contribute to the initial phase, implementation, follow-up, evaluation, and reporting of projects, in collaboration with coordinators, regional teams, and external partners.
Your responsibilities also include:
• Manage and coordinate specific public health projects assigned to them;
• Plan project phases and ensure follow-up on timelines, deliverables, and resources;
• Coordinate the partners and stakeholders involved;
• Organize and facilitate follow-up or coordination meetings;
• Participate in project documentation, evaluation, and report writing;
• Contribute to annual planning and the updating of project management tools;
• Support the preparation of financial components related to the projects (planning, expenditure monitoring, reporting);
• Collaborate in the continuous improvement of management processes and the optimization of monitoring tools;
• Promote smooth collaboration between public health teams, project stakeholders, and external institutions.
REQUIREMENTS
• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered;
• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as administrative sciences, human sciences, or social sciences;
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in managing or coordinating multi-stakeholder projects;
• Two (2) years of work experience in a multicultural context;
• Work experience in a northern or Indigenous context (a strong asset);
• PMP certification or other project management certification (an asset);
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills;
• Strong adaptability and openness to cultural diversity;
• Autonomy, rigor, flexibility, and a strong sense of responsibility;
• Good command of two of the three languages used in Nunavik: French, English, and Inuktitut;
• Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (intermediate to advanced level);
• Willingness to travel by plane to and within Nunavik when required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Please note that interviews will potentially be conducted during the week of December 29th.
• Home base: Residence in the North is prioritized; however, teleworking from the South is possible depending on operational needs. Please note that travel to the North may be required depending on training activities.
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Temporary full-time assignment, 35 hours per week, for a duration of 2 years with the possibility of renewal;
• Day shift;
• Salary in accordance with MSSS conditions and candidate qualifications ($30.27/h to $53.64/h).
