The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec 

Agreement (Chapter 15) and the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory north of the 

55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the needs of the population and the realities of 

the region, and to ensure the effective organization of resources made available to the Nunavik region. 

The Regional Board wishes to fill the temporary position for a one-year term: 

Planning, Programming, and Research Officer - Psychosocial training

DEPARTMENT AND DIVISION: OFFICE OF PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING, # 41004, CHILD YOUTH_FAMILY 

JOB DESCRIPTION 

Reporting to the Director of Planning and Programming, and under the direct supervision of the Child, Family, 

and Youth Coordinator, you will be responsible for developing, organizing, and planning training sessions for 

teams providing psychosocial services in the region. In collaboration with the Child, Family, and Youth 

Coordinator, you will gather and document partners’ training needs to establish priorities. You will play a key 

role in collecting and analyzing training-related data, thereby ensuring the evaluation and continuous updating 

of content to meet the needs of network partners. In addition, you will assist in coordinating the team of trainers 

and participate in reporting as well as other administrative tasks related to the position’s requirements. 

Your responsibilities also include: 

• Review training materials and stay up to date on the Youth Protection Act (YPA) and Bill C-92; 

• Create PowerPoint presentations, protocols, and a framework, and present various projects; 

• Deliver training sessions (online or in person); 

• Facilitate meetings as needed with various partners; 

• Establish collaborative committees: Ullivik, transition to adulthood, suicide prevention, multisectoral 

agreement, etc.; 

• Organize and schedule meetings with regional partners. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant academic discipline, such as business administration, humanities, 

or social sciences; 

• For candidates covered by the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant 

experience and training may be considered;  

• A minimum of three (3) years of experience in counselling in Nunavik; 

• Good knowledge of the health and social services network, particularly in the Nunavik region, is an asset; 

• Proven teaching skills and the ability to effectively convey knowledge; 

• In-depth knowledge of Inuit culture and social issues specific to the Inuit clientele is an asset; 

• Ability to work in a team and collaborate with various partners; 

• Organizational skills, autonomy, sense of responsibility, flexibility, and innovation; 

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in two of the three languages of Nunavik (Inuktitut, English, 

French); 

• Functional proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

• Please note that interviews may be conducted during the week of April 5, 2026; 

• Work location: Remote work; 

• Occasional travel to Nunavik may be required.

WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Full-time permanent position (35 hours/week);  

• Day shift; 

• Salary based on MSSS guidelines and the candidate’s qualifications ($30.27/hour to $53.64/hour). 

Northern Benefits: Employees who relocate to Nunavik are eligible for various allowances, including a retention 

allowance, a remote location allowance, and a food transportation allowance. For those hired more than 50 km 

from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing is provided, along with reimbursement for moving and storage expenses. In 

addition, annual personal trips from Kuujjuaq to the place of employment are included, along with other benefits.
