The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement
(Chapter 15) and the Act Respecting Health Services and Social Services, covers the entire territory north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is
to adapt health and social service programs to the needs of the population and the realities of the region, while ensuring the effective
organization of the resources available to Nunavik.
The Regional Board wishes to fill the following three (3)-year temporary assignment:

DEPARTMENT AND SERVICE: PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT, #40008 – INFECTIOUS DISEASE PREVENTION AND CONTROL
DESCRIPTION
Would you like to contribute to the health and well-being of your community?
As a Tuberculosis (TB) Prevention and Control Agent, you will contribute to Nunavik's tuberculosis elimination
efforts by ensuring that Inuit perspectives and realities are integrated into program projects and initiatives. You
will work with communities, Elders, partners, and the Public Health team to promote approaches that are
respectful of Inuit culture and adapted to the needs of Nunavik. Your contribution will help build a sustainable
program that is rooted in the communities and focused on the well-being of Nunavimmiut.
Your responsibilities will also include:
• Supporting TB prevention and elimination initiatives throughout Nunavik;
• Promoting the integration of Inuit knowledge and perspectives into projects and activities;
• Collaborating with communities, Elders, and regional partners;
• Participating in regional and national meetings and working groups;
• Contributing to awareness, communication, and community engagement activities;
• Supporting the development of a respectful and culturally safe work environment.
REQUIREMENTS
• Assignment reserved for Inuit beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement;
• Proficiency in Inuktitut and English (French is an asset);
• Experience working with Inuit communities, organizations, or committees;
• Interest in public health, community well-being, or cultural safety;
• Comfortable participating in meetings and discussions with partners at various levels;
• Comfortable working remotely and travelling to Nunavik communities as well as to Montreal, Quebec City, Ottawa, and other locations as required.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Please note that interviews may take place during the week of August 10, 2026;
• Work location: Nunavik (Kuujjuaq) or remote work from Southern Quebec.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Full-time temporary position for a period of three (3) years;
• Monday to Friday schedule;
• Day shift;
• Salary according to MSSS conditions and the candidate's qualifications ($31.03/hour to $54.98/hour).
Northern Benefits: Employees residing in or relocating to Nunavik may be eligible for various premiums, including
a recruitment and retention premium, an isolation premium, and a food transportation allowance.
For employees hired from locations more than 50 km from Kuujjuaq, low-cost housing is provided, along with
reimbursement of moving and storage expenses. In addition, annual personal trips between Kuujjuaq and the
employee's place of recruitment, as well as other benefits.
