The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement 

(Chapter 15) and the Act Respecting Health Services and Social Services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. Its 

mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the needs of the population and to the realities of the region, and to ensure 

the efficient organization of resources made available to the Nunavik region. 

The Regional Board is seeking to fill the following full-time temporary assignment for a period of twelve (12) months:

Nursing Care Advisor - Tuberculosis 

DEPARTMENT AND SERVICE : PUBLIC HEALTH DEPARTMENT, #40008, INFECT DIS PREV CONT 

DESCRIPTION 

Under the supervision of the Infectious Diseases Coordinator and as a member of the Nunavik Public Health Department team, the 

Tuberculosis Advisor will participate in the implementation of the regional action plan aimed at eliminating tuberculosis in Nunavik. 

More specifically, the incumbent will work closely with health centre staff to carry out tuberculosis-related epidemiological 

investigations. They will be responsible, in particular, for analyzing investigation data and formulating appropriate recommendations. 

The incumbent will also contribute to various activities planned under the regional action plan for the elimination of tuberculosis, such 

as awareness, training, and community engagement activities. 

The position also requires travel to various Nunavik communities in order to support clinical staff and activities related to 

communication and tuberculosis screening. 

Finally, depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation and the needs identified within the infectious diseases team, the 

Tuberculosis Advisor may be required to contribute to other public health areas, such as sexually transmitted and blood-borne 

infections, notifiable diseases, respiratory infection surveillance, infection prevention and control, vaccine-preventable diseases, 

overdoses, or other public health issues. 

Responsibilities also include: 

• Acting as a tuberculosis subject-matter expert to support clinicians in health centres; 

• Issuing public health and intervention recommendations to relevant partners during outbreaks or infectious threats related to 

tuberculosis; 

• Developing and facilitating prevention activities; 

• Providing training to tuberculosis intervention teams; 

• Supporting local public health activities and initiatives related to tuberculosis prevention and protection; 

• Developing regional tuberculosis-related guides, tools, and protocols; 

• Participating in tuberculosis research activities; 

• Developing screening algorithms and other outbreak management tools. 

REQUIREMENTS 

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and membership in the Ordre des infirmières et infirmiers du Quebec; 

• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant experience and 

training may be considered; 

• Experience in tuberculosis work in Nunavik or another remote region is an asset; 

• Experience in public health is an asset; 

• Bilingualism (spoken and written) in French and English; Inuktitut is an asset; 

• Ability to work in a multicultural environment and within a multidisciplinary team; 

• Excellent communication skills and positive leadership; 

• Experience in training and facilitation is an asset; 

• Professional autonomy and sound clinical judgment; 

• Strong adaptability, analytical skills, and synthesis abilities; 

• Planning and organizational skills. 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION 

• Please note that interviews may be conducted during the week of April 5, 2026; 

• Work location: remote work; 

• Occasional travel to the office located in Quebec City or to Nunavik may be required. 

Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement will be given priority. 

WORKING CONDITIONS 

• Full-time temporary assignment (37.5 hours per week) for a period of twelve (12) months;  

• Day shift; 

• Salary in accordance with MSSS conditions and the candidate’s qualifications ($30.71/hour to $56.34/hour).
