Program Manager - Ilagiit Councils - NRBHSS
The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), established under the James Bay
and Northern Quebec Agreement (Chapter 15) and the Act respecting health services and social
services, covers the entire territory north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social
services programs to the needs of the population and the realities of the region, and to ensure the
efficient organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.
The regional board wishes to fill the following permanent position:
Program Manager - Ilagiit Councils 2024-065
Nunavimmi Ilagiit Papatauvinga (NIP) is an Inuit-run organization whose mission is to develop a
continuum of culturally appropriate services for the youth and families of Nunavik. Currently under
the aegis of the NRBHSS, NIP is set to become independent in the coming months.
DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Inuit Values and Practices, the Ilagiit Councils Program Manager is
responsible for the promotion, continuous improvement and day-to-day management of the program.
The successful candidate must :
• Facilitating Ilagiit advice;
• Train a team of Ilagiit council animators;
• Plan and implement relevant monitoring procedures;
• Coordinate all Ilagiit council requests
• Manage all logistical and budgetary aspects of the program;
• Develop and implement a communications plan to promote services throughout Nunavik;
• Liaise with youth protection and social services personnel;
• Implement and monitor ongoing evaluation of services rendered and track program outcomes
to ensure they meet the needs of the population.
REQUIREMENTS
• Autonomy, dynamism and organizational skills;
• Comfortable working in a group ;
• Able to create and maintain good working relationships with partners;
• Familiarity with Inuit culture and excellent command of Inuktitut;
• Willingness to travel in the region.
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement will be given
priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Permanent full-time position (35 h/week) ;
• Based in Nunavik ;
• Salary according to MSSS rules for manager staff (class 36 - $74,481 to $96,826/year).
