The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks of rest.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Senior Geologist, the Project Geologist supervises and performs all exploration work. He is responsible for:

  •  Organize and supervise the day-to-day work of junior geologists, technicians and day laborers;
  •  Participate in the training of junior staff to improve their working skills;
  •  Ensure the application of work procedures, health and safety and environmental protection;
  •  Assist and participate in the planning and implementation of the exploration work;
  •  Follow up on the exploration work and ensure the quality of the work results;
  •  Regularly compile, process, integrate and interpret data and results of exploration work;
  •  Participate in 3D geological modeling (including structures and mineralization);
  •  Ensure drill inspection at the health and safety and environmental levels;
  •  Coordinate exploration work with logistic planners and contractors;
  •  If necessary, he perform all other tasks requested by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  •  University degree (Bac.) In geosciences (geology or geological engineering);
  •  Applicants must be members of the Ordre des géologues or Ingénieurs du Québec;
  •  Minimum of 5 years of experience in mineral exploration;
  •  Possess professional experience associated with the exploration of magmatic deposits of the nickel-copper and platinoid group is an asset;
  •  Good knowledge of Microsoft Suite software, Leapfrog, Geotic Mine, ArcGIS or equivalents.
  •  Be skilled in verbal and written communications (reports, presentations, others);
  •  Have demonstrated an ability to work in a team;
  •  Must have a valid general explosive license;
  •  Must have a valid driver's license.

ASSETS

  •  Bilingual (French and English).
  •  Good knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
