POSITION 

Job Title:   Project Manager – Justice Division  

Reports to: The Assistant-Director in the Justice Division 

Location:   Nunavik or Montréal 

Status of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time

SALARY AND BENEFITS 

Salary:  Between $85,000 and $105,000 annually 

Benefits: All marginal benefits available to Makivvik employees annually as 

outlined in the Makivvik Human Resources Policy Manual such as: 

Simplified Pension Plan: Employer Contribution 7% 

Vacation: Starting at 20 days 

Sick Days: 15 days 

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Group Insurance:  

Life, LTD, Health, & Dental 

Gas Allowance: To a max. of $3,500 

Travel Benefit: To a max. of $25,000 

Isolation Premium: To a max. of $20,800 Housing Allowance: To a max. of $12,000 

Cargo Allowance: To a max. of $6,500  

• Provide ongoing operational and administrative support to Program Managers and 

Supervisors across all Justice Department programs to ensure effective and consistent 

service delivery; 

• Act as a resource person to managers and supervisors by offering guidance, coaching, and 

practical tools to strengthen program operations, organization, and oversight; 

• Identify gaps, inefficiencies, or emerging needs within programs and work collaboratively 

with leadership to implement practical and sustainable solutions; 

• Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of departmental and program

specific initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities; 

• Manage assigned projects through all phases of the project lifecycle (initiation, planning, 

execution, monitoring, and closing), while maintaining clear communication with relevant 

stakeholders; 

• Assist programs in strengthening their administrative practices, including file 

management, tracking tools, workflow organization, and internal processes; 

• Support the development, review, and consolidation of reports, funding requests, and 

program documentation, ensuring clarity, consistency, and alignment with funder 

expectations; 

• Contribute to the preparation of financial tracking tools, budget forecasts, and activity 

reports related to specific projects or departmental initiatives; 

• Collaborate with Program Managers and Supervisors to ensure consistency in practices 

across programs, including reporting standards, service delivery approaches, and internal 

procedures; 

• Provide or coordinate training and capacity-building activities in collaboration with the 

Training Development Officer, based on identified program needs; 

• Participate in meetings with internal teams, community partners, and government 

stakeholders, as required, in support of program and project objectives; 

• Provide targeted support to frontline initiatives, where needed, including assisting with 

complex cases, special projects, or time-sensitive operational demands; 

• Be available to travel, as required; 

• Perform all other related duties within the scope of the position, as assigned by the 

supervisor. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

▪ Post-secondary education in a related field is considered an asset, or a combination of 

relevant education and significant work experience in a similar role; 

▪ Effective communication skills in at least two (2) of the three (3) languages: Inuktitut, English 

and/or French; 

▪ Effective Computer skills : Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.); 

▪ Inuit and cultural knowledge and understanding, is required; 

▪ Work experience with the judicial system in Nunavik is an asset; 

▪ Working knowledge of the social, judicial or correctional field; 

▪ Strong organizational skills and action oriented; 

▪ Demonstrate the capacity to work autonomously and a great team player; 

▪ Security clearance is required.
