POSITION: PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER

SALARY: FROM $53,529 TO $88,795 DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq (KI) is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

Under the supervision of the Communications Coordinator, the Public Relations Officer shall participate in the development and implementation of communication policies and plans to support the school board's strategic plan, and to inform students, employees, parents and the general public, using various media tools and means.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

• Manage online communities (Facebook, X, Instagram, LinkedIn);

• Monitor social networks;

• Plan and implement promotional campaigns that may include the production of print material, digital marketing, radio advertisement, etc.;

• Develop content that appeals to the school board’s target audience and contributes to increasing our social media presence;

• Identify, develop and ensure the online availability of engaging content adapted to each of the social media platforms used by the school board;

• Contribute to the implementation of work practices that facilitate the participation of other Public Relations team members by supporting the identification of relevant topics for social networks and content development;

• Update the Facebook management guide created by the Communications team;

• Any other task assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• University undergraduate degree, preferably in communication, journalism or public relations

• At least one (1) year of relevant experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Advanced English and editing skills

• Working knowledge of one (1) of the two (2) other official languages (French and Inuktitut) of the school board

• Be prepared to travel to Nunavik when necessary (minimum of two trips per year, including during the school year);

• Strong computer skills, including word processing, image editing and desktop publishing (Adobe suite)

• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

• Intercultural communication skills

• Dynamic, resourceful and enthusiastic.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2121: from $53,529 TO $88,795annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
