Job title: Public Security Officer

Organization: Northern Village of Inukjuak

Tasks

- Be in charge of all public security

- Plan, prepare and implement working schedule of all emergency departments

- Working with Fire Department, Nursing Station, Police, Night Watch Personnel

and

Hunter Support Program

- Close collaboration with the Mayor, Municipal Manager and Project Coordinator

- Develop a working relationship with KRG Civil Security Department

- Enforce public education, awareness and prevention (FM radio, school, etc.)

- Plan and implement public safety training for local organizations

- Keep track and manage all hazardous waste in the community

- Develop and ensure good working relationship with the emergency response

team

- Assist in management of waste water and drinking water safety education

- Implement public safety boating and water activities

- Implement safety in different hunting seasons

- Assume other related responsibilities as they develop

Requirements

- Autonomy, initiative and organizational skills

- Planning and management skills

- Knowledge and wide range of safety issues

- Good communication skills

- Experience in administrative tasks

- Basic knowledge of computer use

- Fluency in Inuktitut and English or French

Salary: Salary based on experience and salary scale

Candidates chosen as full time employees are eligible to a Northern Allowance of $5,000

or $3,000, participate in an employee pension plan and Group Insurance plan, participate

in a travel benefit plan after 12 months of service.

Probation period up to six (6) months
