The Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS), incorporated under the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (section 15) as well as the Act respecting health services and social services, covers the entire territory located north of the 55th parallel. Its mission is to adapt health and social services programs to the population’s needs and the region’s realities and to ensure efficient organization of the resources made available to the Nunavik region.
The regional board seeks to fill the following temporary assignment position:

MANAGEMENT AND DEPARTMENT:
DIRECTORATE OF PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING, #8110 – CLINICAL PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING SERVICES
DESCRIPTION
Under the responsibility of the assistant director clinical sector and under the supervision of a planning, programing and research officer from the emergency prehospital services, emergency measures, and civil security team, the person of this position works on the continuous improvement of the quality of services provided by the various stakeholders in emergency prehospital services (EPS). This person plays an important role in ensuring access to and the safe delivery of services provided by first responders in Nunavik. They demonstrate leadership in developing best practices in their field.
The person’s mandate is to promote the development of a true safety culture and continuous improvement in emergency prehospital services, particularly by supporting our community partners.
Through effective communication and transformational leadership, the person fosters innovation, creativity, and the pursuit of excellence in the continuous improvement of processes to support the organization’s priorities in emergency prehospital services.
Your responsibilities also include to:
• Review and follow up on interventions carried out by first responders;
• Collaborate in the design, revision and adaptation of training content;
• Provide training to various responders;
• Participate in the development, implementation, application and evaluation of prehospital emergency services programs;
• Collaborate with the EPS team in identifying ways to achieve set objectives;
• Participate in DMR/CAQF and other national tables related to its mandate.
The successful candidate will:
• Work closely with the service planning and programming team to achieve quality assurance and prehospital service organization objectives;
• Maintain close relations with the Regional Medical Director (DMR) SPU as well as with key MSSS players in relation to the mandate;
• Be available for special missions in relation to local service disruptions in the territory's communities.
REQUIREMENTS
• Hold a Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Paramedic or pre-hospital emergency care from a school recognized by the appropriate ministry;
• Have successfully completed the First Responder Trainer training program issued by the MSSS;
• Hold a paramedic status card under the National Ambulance Technician Workforce Registry and CPR and MDSA instructor certification;
• For candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement, a combination of relevant experience and training may be considered;
• Proficiency in at least two of the three languages spoken in the region: Inuktitut, English or French;
• Be available to travel the territory for 10 to 12 stays of approximately one week to provide training to local first responder teams or for specific missions;
• 5 years' work experience as a paramedic/pre-hospital emergency care is desirable;
• Experience in a quality assurance function is considered an asset;
• ACLS, ATLS, AMLS, EPC, PHTLS or TCCC certifications are an asset;
• Good understanding of the socio-cultural context of Nunavik and Inuit culture is considered an asset.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Interviews will potentially be conducted during the week of October 6, 2025;
• Home base: Assignment primarily based in the North (add city name if needed). Residence in the North is prioritized; however, teleworking from the South is possible depending on operational needs. Please note that travel to the North may be required depending on training activities.
Candidates who are beneficiaries of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement shall receive priority.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Status part-time occasional;
• Day shift;
• Salary according to the conditions of the MSSS and the qualifications of the candidate ($28.19/h to $41.91/h).
