POSITION: RESIDENCE MANAGER

DEPARTMENT: ADULT EDUCATION AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING

SALARY: FROM $100,606 TO $134,139, DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

STATUS: FULL-TIME REGULAR POSITION

START DATE: JULY 2025

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq is a school board offering educational services in the 14 communities of Nunavik.

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Reporting to the Director of Adult Education and Vocational Training, the Residence Manager is responsible for the management and smooth running of all aspects of the residence.

• Supervise and evaluate all the staff members who work at the residence.

• Implement the School Board’s policies.

• Prepare and manage the budget.

• Plan and coordinate the services and activities to the students and their families who live in the residence.

• Supervise the kitchen to ensure that the students have 3 meals per day and ensure that the cleanliness and safety instructions are respected.

• Ensure the correct condition of material resources and the safety of the personnel and premises.

• Ensure efficient and ongoing communication with the students’ committee.

• Be on standby 24h / 7days.

• Organize student arrivals and departures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Hold a university degree in social work, recreology or in a relevant field with (3) three years of experience.

or

• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience.

The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the above-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Fluency in Inuktitut and either French or English

• Leadership capacity.

• Independence, excellent organizational skills, time management, and ability to work on several projects in parallel.

• Knowledge of Outlook, Word and Excel.

• Knowledge of the Far North and of Inuit culture is an asset.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

Class 00-08 as per the working conditions of Managers / from $100,606 to $134,139 annually depending on qualifications and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
