Senior Buyer

The regular work schedule is 9 hours per day, including a meal break, totaling 40 paid hours per week in a 

hybrid mode.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Supervisor, the Senior Buyer is responsible for all aspects of the procurement 

process, from strategic planning to contract closure, as well as the execution of all administrative tasks within the 

procurement function to ensure the continuity of mine operations with the goal of increasing productivity. The position 

holder is responsible for:Seeks out the best prices/delivery times, new sources of supply;

• Preparing the procurement strategy.

• Drafting and managing the tendering process.

• Negotiating the clauses, terms, and conditions of services or purchases.

• Evaluating and analyzing offers received from tenders.

• Drafting commercial contracts and assisting in contract administration.

• Developing and maintaining professional relationships with internal clients and suppliers.

• Participating in project planning, execution, and control meetings.

• Performing all related tasks as requested by the supervisor.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, operations management, or procurement, or an 

equivalent combination of education.

• Minimum of six (6) years of relevant experience in similar roles. 

• Proficiency in workflow processes and best practices in procurement management.

• Customer-oriented approach and change management capability.

• Mastery of analysis tools and procurement-specific software.

• Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written).

• Excellent proficiency in various MS Office software.

• Multitasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. 

• Solid negotiation skills.

ASSETS 

• Experience in the mining industry.

• Knowledge of procurement and inventory management, transport logistics, and hazardous materials management.

• Familiarity with the IT Guide.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
