SENIOR MINE ENGINEER

The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks. 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed
by 2 weeks paid to rest.

FUTURE CHALLENGES
Reporting to the Chief Engineer, the Senior Mine Engineer is responsible for:
• Planning, organizing, designing, and overseeing the follow-up of both underground and open-pit mining
operations;
• Responsible for planning, organizing, designing and monitoring underground and open-pit mining
operations;
• Develop mining cycles in continuous improvement;
• Plan and progress the work according to plans and specifications, in the short and medium term;
• Coordinate interactions between Engineering, Geology, Surface and Underground mining, Projects and
others;
• Establish LOM objectives to meet annual production objectives related to the budget;
• Supervise the team of planners and surveyors and ensure the quality of the information provided;
• Responsible for follow-up of the rock mechanics file by developing and following up on existing
specifications;
• Perform such other duties as the Chief may deem necessary to ensure the efficient conduct of the
Corporation’s business;
• Perform weekly and monthly progress reports on operations;
• Monitor and plan orders for the various consumables required for operations.
REQUIREMENTS
• Have a bachelor’s degree in mining engineering and also be a member of the OIQ;
• Have 12 years of job-related experience;
• Strong skills Underground Engineering;
• Have an excellent knowledge of mining planning in the short and medium term;
• Experience in the production of magmatic deposits of the nickel-platinum group;
• Experience in permafrost environment is an asset.
• Possess skills in rock mechanics;
• Good knowledge of the MS Office, Gemcom, Promine, and Deswik
• Hold a valid driver’s license.
