The normal work schedule is on a rotation of 4 weeks: 2 weeks worked (77 hours per week, 7 days a week) followed by 2 weeks of rest.

FUTURE CHALLENGES
Reporting to the Senior Purchasing Supervisor, the Buyer will be responsible for all aspects of the procurement process, from strategic planning to contract close, as well as the execution of all administrative tasks within the procurement function to ensure the continuity of mine operations and increase productivity. The buyer will be responsible for:
• Identifying, evaluating, and selecting suppliers for the purchase of goods and services;
• Drafting and managing the Request for Quotation (RFQ) and/or Request for Proposal (RFP) process;
• Evaluating and analyzing bids received during RFQ and/or RFP processes;
• Preparing and sending purchase orders;
• Tracking orders throughout the procurement process;
• Coordinating deliveries and managing returns or claims;
• Negotiating contracts or terms and conditions for goods and services;
• Drafting contracts for goods and services;
• Assisting in contract administration;
• Collaborating with internal departments to understand their needs;
• Developing and maintain professional relationships with internal clients and suppliers;
• Managing costs;
• Identifying cost reduction opportunities;
• Participating in continuous improvement initiatives related to procurement processes;
• Analyzing supplier performance and propose opportunities for improvement in terms of service quality and profitability;
• Performing all related tasks as requested by the supervisor.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• College Diploma (DEC) in an appropriate discipline;
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in similar roles;
• Knowledge of equipment and experience in maintenance;
• Proficiency in work processes and best practices in supply chain management;
• Customer-focused approach and ability to manage change;
• Proficiency in analytical tools and purchasing-specific software;
• Bilingualism in French and English (spoken and written);
• Excellent command of MS Office suite applications;
• Multitasking skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
ASSETS
• Experience in the mining sector;
• Knowledge of procurement and inventory management, transportation logistics, and hazardous materials management;
• Knowledge of the Guide TI system.
